Project write up
The idea that I am exploring and working on for the senses
project is what I call unexpected disappointment. The senses that are being used are sight and
smell with interaction of the object. The idea of my project is to have a
bottle like ‘Gatorade’ half full of what looks like liquid but really a solid
that has been coloured to look as if it’s the bottles liquid. When the user
opens and takes off the lid it will have the same smell as the Gatorade but
when the bottle is tilted to its side to be taken a sip of what looks like the
liquid won’t move and will give that feel of disappointment.
Something that could replace the liquid would be jelly or
even silicon plastic that has been coloured to match the colour of the drink.
The smell of the drink could be done many ways but one of ways that can work effectively
is having the sent on some fabric underneath the lid on the inside of the
bottle. The weight will be one of the
hard aspects of the project as it will have to be match near to the real thing.
That is why the solids will need to be explored immensely to best fit the requirement.
