DSDN 101 - Group work

Nana-Technology
Film, stop motion, animation

Layers of  Nana-technology stop motion

Nana technology was created to help elderly keep up with modern technology using a basic computer program. They also offer face to face tutorials and a 24 hour help line. Eventually you will learn how to interlink your computer with technology around the house to make your life easier. Simple tasks like turning the heating on, boiling the jug, or recording the latest episode of Coronation Street can be completed with the click of a mouse.
The advertisement is meant catch the attention of people that are finding trouble keeping up with technology and its exponential growth. We want our ad to be directed at an elderly audience because they will be our target market. The variety of devices that are included in our video relate to the range of technology we offer support for. The advertisement is straightforward and defines the intention of the company. At Nana Tec. we are all about keeping things simple so we didn’t want to scare away our market audience with flashy explosions and colours, so we kept it simple to make our program more approachable. At the end of the ad the viewer is left with the question: “Having trouble keeping up with technology?” we used this rhetorical question to make the viewer question their ability and advertise our solution. So, are you having trouble keeping up? Come see us at Nana Technology. Today.

DSDN 171 - Curatorial

“Your best work is your expression of yourself. Now, you may not be the greatest at it, but when you do it. You’re the only expert.” –Frank Gehry explains this quote that ties into the work of the fluid model  as it may not be the greatest, but ideas pulled from precedents to form an expression of yourself with in the design of the model.

In the Fluid form model that has been designed, it links and corresponds with the precedent artists by the names of Wassily Kandinsky and Frank Gehry. The model displays elements and certain features of their design work. Elegant flowing curved lines are enriched in the model, from how the architect Frank Gehry has displayed the curves in his buildings. He has designed with sheets of metal bent and twisted over to form unique abstracted shapes that capture viewers’ eyes.

The fluid form model bends and twists being bound in place by geometric shaped thread. The curves being repetitive link to Kandinskys use of a series of parallel lines in his painting. All curves are at the same width and length with the same amount of spacing between each one leading up to individual points where each one is bounded together with black thread in a triangular shape. The contrast in colours and use of material is simple with it gloss on one side and matt on the other. Being white it reflects light in different ways and produces unique abstracted shadows. It helps to capture its viewers as if it is one of Gehry’s architectural structures.

DSDN 101 Group challenge

Advertisement poster
Nana-technology

In this task i was placed in a group where we were asked to construct a advertisement poster of a company called Nana-technology. The design has been made simple with an object relating to knitting to get the attention of the over 60's age group as that it who it's targeting. Fonts and colours are bold and easy to read making the poster more friendly towards the older generation.
